Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. Witnesses said he struck other riders before plunging to the ground, and his body was found behind one of the park's haunted attractions.
A woman who was riding the coaster described the scene: 'His blood splattered over everybody,' she told 11Alive, adding that she saw him hit a girl sitting two rows ahead before he was flung from the ride. Another rider, Logan Conner, said the man 'started levitating in the air sideways' and that they made direct eye contact before the fall.
Cobb County Police's Major Crimes Unit has opened an investigation, and the park temporarily halted the Goliath ride. In response, Six Flags shut nine other high‑speed coasters across six North American parks, citing caution.
The incident follows a wave of safety concerns at Six Flags, including the July 12 retirement of the X2 coaster at Magic Mountain after lawsuits over brain injuries. The company said it was cooperating with authorities and offering support to affected visitors and staff, but has not set a reopening date for the suspended rides.
