At about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on the A‑Block of Lok Vihar in Pitampura, striking the walls of Sahil Jain’s house and a parked car.
Police recovered one live cartridge and two empty cases, and found four to five bullet holes in the house, but no injuries were reported.
Jain, a Dubai‑based businessman, had received a phone threat from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 2021; a 2023 case was filed at the Special Cell.
Deputy Commissioner Akansha Yadav said the police are analyzing CCTV and tracing entry and exit points, with no fresh threats recorded since 2021.
Footage shows a helmeted rider and a cloth‑covered pillion, one stepping off the bike to fire several rounds before fleeing.
The Crime Team and FSL are inspecting the scene, while investigators aim to link the attack to an extortion attempt and target the gang, with a court hearing expected next month.
