CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, April 27, 2024, for ordering a nationwide shutdown in Delhi to curb a student protest slated for October 10.
The shutdown included a halt to metro and railway services, closures of major roads, and a redeployment of security forces from Kashmir and Naxal‑affected areas to the capital.
Dipke posted on X that the government’s “dictator” would rather inconvenience millions than allow peaceful demonstration at a designated venue. He questioned the need for such extensive restrictions in the name of security.
The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janata Party, demands the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and calls on students and young people to exercise their fundamental rights. Dipke said the protest would remain peaceful and that the authorities should not treat the demonstrators like enemies.
With the shutdown in place, the CJP plans to mobilise thousands of students for the October 10 protest, seeking to expose what it sees as an overreach of state power.
