Bairstow lashes out at ECB, calling Hill’s omission a 'joke'.
Hill has taken 48 wickets at an average of 21.0, racked up 750 runs at 34.0 in limited‑overs cricket and a 31 batting average in first‑class games.
After a brief Lions call‑up in May 2025, he was left off both T20 and 50‑over squads for the West Indies A tour.
Bairstow, who wore the England cap from 2011 to 2024, slammed the decision on Instagram Stories, insisting England were 'hardly blessed' with swing bowlers, batters and fielders who can perform in all departments—an all‑rounder like Hill should be a key asset.
The Lions set to battle West Indies A in November, with Hill’s place still on the table.
Will the selectors heed Bairstow's call? Only the next match will reveal.
