Trent led the gains with a 12% surge after reporting better‑than‑expected quarterly growth; Reliance contributed about 60 points to the Nifty. IT stocks fell nearly 1%, and hospital shares slipped ahead of a Supreme Court hearing, with Max Healthcare as the biggest loser.
Capital market stocks saw buying, with BSE up 4%; Kotak Mahindra Bank rose 4% following strong quarterly updates. Air‑conditioner companies climbed, with PG Electroplast up 8% on demand expectations.
Trent will report Q1 2027 results on June 15, with analysts projecting a modest revenue uptick; market participants will watch closely for guidance as the sector faces tightening margins.
