On Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy began a 3‑km padayatra in Sircilla, laying foundation stones for Rs 345.78 crore development work and walking beside weavers from Ambedkar Chowk to the meeting site near Ragudu bypass. He used the march to launch a personal attack on BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, demanding that the 400‑room Deccan Serai five‑star hotel and AtHome serviced apartments near HITEC City be publicly accounted for.
The meeting, attended by about 100,000 people according to Congress, saw Reddy question KTR over alleged assets in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, and farmhouses in Janwada, Shankarpally, Moinabad and Erravelli, and overseas holdings in the US and Singapore. He also highlighted a ten‑year BRS claim that handloom workers received Rs 2,000 crore, compared with Rs 1,730 crore spent by his own government in two and a half years.
Reddy said the state had formed a four‑member IAS committee on September 23 to probe land irregularities involving KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and others, but the panel has yet to find wrongdoing. The BRS has denied the allegations and called for an independent judicial inquiry.
Reddy promised a 'Part‑2' of his accusations to be presented in the next Assembly session, while the IAS committee is expected to submit its report in early October. Observers say the allegations could set the stage for a high‑profile court case and reshape the political landscape in Telangana.
