Looking for a higher‑capacity bike that still feels like a family rider? Hero’s upcoming Xtreme 160R and 250R are priced at ₹1.27 lakh and ₹1.98 lakh, putting them in the same ballpark as TVS’s Apache 350 and Bajaj’s Pulsar 150.
Under the hood, the 160R packs 17.5 bhp and 14.5 Nm, while the 250R pushes 20.5 bhp and 20.5 Nm. Both come with a 12‑inch TFT, ABS, and limited‑traction control, giving a tech‑savvy feel at a modest price.
Hero still trails its rivals in the premium segment, with only 1.9% share versus TVS’s 15% and Bajaj’s 12%. The company’s aim is to close that gap by adding new models and strengthening its Premia dealer network.
Hero plans to roll out three to four new premium bikes in the next five months of FY27, meaning the Xtreme 160R and 250R should hit the market by March 2027. Deliveries are expected to start in late 2026.
For buyers, this means a broader range of options in the 150–250cc bracket, and a chance to buy a bike that feels premium without the premium price tag. Keep an eye on the 2027 launch, and the upcoming Xpulse adventure line may also expand to fill the high‑capacity niche.
