Vijayvargiya’s track record of controversial remarks on women’s appearance and behaviour is well known. In 2023 he compared girls in revealing clothing to a mythological character, and in 2025 he criticised women’s safety remarks, drawing widespread condemnation. His comments have repeatedly prompted protests from opposition parties and civil society groups.
Yadav clarified that the remarks were taken out of context, describing Vijayvargiya as a father‑figure who has supported her since childhood. She urged the public not to spread rumours and to focus on development work. The BJP’s office has not yet issued a statement, and Congress has pressed for an official apology before the next assembly session.
