RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (REALTEL) closed at ₹252.30 on the BSE, up ₹4.15 or 1.67% after announcing a ₹48.98 crore work order from Odisha's Higher Education Department.
The order, awarded on 13 October 2026, calls for 83 digital application modules under the Comprehensive Digital Governance Platform, with deployment and integration into the existing ERP system, and a completion deadline of 10 May 2027.
This contract adds to a strong pipeline that the company highlighted earlier this year, noting a 20‑25% revenue growth target for FY27 and a 40‑50% annual rise in project business, following a 20% jump in the April‑June 2026 quarter.
RailTel also secured ₹255 crore from the Railway Vehicle Leasing & Engineering Ltd (RVNL) for tunnel communication systems and a ₹53 crore IT disaster recovery contract, underscoring a diversified project mix that could shift the revenue ratio from 60:40 to 70:30 between telecom and projects.
Chairman‑MD Sanjai Kumar said the Kavach railway safety arm, expected to start recognising revenue this year, offers higher margins than the typical 4‑5% project range, while the company targets ₹300 crore in data‑centre revenue this year and ₹500 crore by 2027‑28, funded through real‑estate partnerships.
With over ₹2,000 crore in government trade receivables as of March, the company points to timing delays rather than funding risk, positioning investors to watch margin improvements and the impact of the new order on the FY27 outlook.
