The Narcotics Control Bureau seized two clandestine drug laboratories in the Greater Noida region of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, arresting two individuals suspected of producing and trafficking synthetic drugs. The operation, described as intelligence‑led enforcement, recovered large amounts of methamphetamine precursors and specialized laboratory equipment, underscoring the scale of the network.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X congratulating the NCB and calling the raid a remarkable example of the government's commitment to dismantling drug cartels before December 2029. He cited the Vision Document on Narcotics Control 2026‑2029, adopted under the Mission for Nashamukt Bharat, as the policy framework guiding the effort.
Earlier on Friday, the Home Ministry requested detailed reports from the Punjab government about attacks on anti‑drug activists, including the fatal assault on Bikramjit Singh in Mari Panwan village, the killing of Parwinder Singh Jhota in Mansa, and the alleged suicide of Gulzar Singh in Sangrur. The Centre also asked Punjab to furnish an action report on the Vision Document’s implementation.
The Greater Noida raid aligns with a broader crackdown across the National Capital Region, where law‑enforcement agencies have intensified surveillance of drug‑manufacturing sites linked to Delhi’s growing illicit market.
As the NCB continues to dismantle production hubs, the Home Ministry is poised to launch further intelligence‑led operations, with officials indicating that additional raids are planned for the coming weeks.
