Prannv Dhawan told Times Now Digital that the Cockroach Janta Party will back the opposition’s November 1 Ramlila Maidan rally, but only as an independent pressure group. He stressed that the party’s strategy remains unchanged, with each faction continuing to operate autonomously. The core demand—resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar—is still the party’s priority. Dhawan said the CJP will support mainstream opposition parties whenever they engage in constitutional and parliamentary battles.
Dialogue with Congress, Samajwadi Party, and other INDIA bloc members is ongoing, he added, and there has never been a breakdown. The Aam Aadmi Party’s position is yet to be clarified; Dhawan urged AAP spokespersons to speak on the matter. He emphasized that the group’s focus is on issues, not party tactics.
The CJP highlighted concerns over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, demanding accountability. Its ‘Janta Se Samvad’ programme will continue to press for transparent processes. The party also calls for educational accountability reforms. These actions aim to reinforce democratic foundations.
Dhawan portrayed the rally as a convergence of citizens and representatives on a single issue, not a political alliance. He argued that only when people trust the process can a legitimate government emerge. The event will therefore be remembered as a civic assertion rather than a campaign launch.
In a separate development, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Centre over the identity of CJP co‑convener Saurav Das. Dhawan described the proceeding as ‘shocking’ and expressed confidence that the party would be vindicated. Legal remedies will continue as the CJP tackles what it calls malicious complaints.
