Abhijeet Dipke, a 23‑year‑old member of the Cockroach Janta Party, was taken into custody by Delhi Police on Friday as he exited Anish Gawande’s apartment near Central Park in Connaught Place, just hours before the party’s planned ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally.
Police said Dipke was booked under Section 163 and moved him to Jafarpur Kalan police station, where he remains under preventive detention.
The CJP blasted the move, claiming Dipke had been transported to an undisclosed location and denied access to counsel, alleging the government was treating youth like terrorists for simply carrying a national flag.
Around 150 protesters, including members of student groups, were detained during the march, with traffic police stationed at the inner and outer circles of Connaught Place to control crowds.
Police are expected to file Section 163 charges and a court hearing will determine Dipke’s legal status, while the AISA chief Neha Bora remains in custody at Manglapuri.
