The numbers don’t lie, and for Ajay Devgn, they are currently singing a very specific tune. Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has officially eclipsed the lifetime collections of both its predecessors, amassing ₹245.50 crore net in India after just seven days. That’s a massive leap over Drishyam 2’s ₹240 crore net and a staggering distance from the original Drishyam, which collected ₹67.13 crore net back in its day.
But the bigger story isn’t just the franchise record; it’s what this means for Devgn’s personal ledger. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted on social media that the film is now on track to surpass Tanhaji, making it the actor’s highest-grossing release ever. The momentum hasn’t stalled, either. With ₹13 crore net collected on Day 7 across 15,758 shows, the film is pacing for a week-one finish near the ₹243 crore mark, a figure Adarsh called "fantastic."
The audience response has been consistent, even if the daily fluctuations show some organic variance. After minting ₹62 crore on Friday and ₹53.50 crore on Saturday, the film rebounded to ₹61 crore on Sunday, keeping its trajectory strong. Adarsh observed that while morning and noon slots were low-key on Wednesday, the evening crowds picked up the pace, a pattern typical of strong word-of-mouth thrillers that rely on night-time footfalls.
Critically, the shift in creative hands hasn’t broken the spell. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV highlighted that while Devgn delivers the expected goods, it’s Jaideep Ahlawat who adds a weight to the proceedings that leaves an indelible mark. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, who also co-wrote the script, this installment diverges from the Malayalam originals with an original story, yet it retains the core DNA that propelled the first two films to success.
As the film heads into its second week, the competition is thin, with no major releases threatening its hold on screens. The worldwide gross has already hit ₹383.60 crore, including ₹89 crore from overseas. For now, the verdict is clear: this is a definitive conclusion, both narratively and financially.
