Larry Ellison has put his 8.4‑acre oceanfront estate in North Palm Beach back on the market, this time with a $165 million asking price after a failed $145 million attempt last year.
The original purchase in 2021 cost Ellison $80 million, a price that reflected the 16,300‑square‑foot home built in 1991 and its 550‑foot water frontage. He had intended to demolish the house, but the property lingered on the market with no takers.
The new $165 million tag equates to roughly $10,000 per square foot for the existing structure and about $19.6 million per acre, making it the highest‑priced listing in the Seminole Landing gated community. K2 Realty’s James Kenny says the price targets a niche of ultra‑high‑net‑worth buyers who can afford a private helipad and 24‑hour security.
North Palm Beach has seen similar high‑end sales: three waterfront homes sold for $30 million, $40 million and $41.8 million between 2020 and 2021. The new listing will sit on the same stretch near the Seminole Golf Club, a coveted spot for luxury buyers.
Ellison’s Florida real‑estate empire expanded again in 2022 when he paid $173 million for an adjacent 15‑acre estate in Manalapan, and in June 2024 he added $35 million of adjoining land to that property. He also owns eight staff homes in Boynton Beach, acquired for a combined $10 million in 2023.
The listing is slated to go live on July 15, 2024, with K2 Realty planning a private showing for a shortlist of investors. Local realtor John Martinez notes that the price may pressure neighboring sellers to reassess their own valuations, potentially reshaping the North Palm Beach market.
