Lovlina Borgohain outboxed Kazakhstan’s Natalya Bogdanova 30‑27 to secure a berth in the women’s 75‑kg final at the Asian Games in Nagoya.
The judges’ scorecards were a chessboard of close rounds. Borgohain claimed the opening round on three of the five cards, while Bogdanova edged the second on two. The third round was split again, but the cumulative 30‑27 edge gave Borgohain the win.
She’s the 2022 Asian Games silver medalist, and now wants to turn that silver into gold.
The gold‑medal bout is slated for October 2, with the title hanging in the balance.
The final will determine whether Borgohain can lift the gold instead of the silver she won in 2022.
