Laurus Labs' Q2 FY27 net profit leapt to ₹442 cr, a 126.7% YoY rise, eclipsing the ₹354.1 cr forecast. Revenue climbed 33.4% to ₹2,206 cr, and EBITDA margin widened to 34%, up from 24.4% a year earlier. The shares closed 2.14% higher at ₹2,231.80 on the BSE.
Operating earnings jumped 86% year‑on‑year to ₹750 cr, surpassing the ₹644.4 cr poll. That surge, coupled with a 33.4% top‑line rise, positions Laurus ahead of the pharma sector average, which saw a 22% EBITDA margin last quarter.
On the expansion front, the board green‑lit a 52% stake in SI & C Resins Pvt Ltd at a ₹30 cr pre‑money valuation, with ₹32.5 cr earmarked for the transaction. A further ₹30 cr could be injected if SI & C needs capital, making it a subsidiary that supplies polymer and silica products to pharma and biotech.
Meanwhile, Laurus secured a 60% stake in Canada‑based Galenvs Sciences Inc., valuing the biotech at $3.5 m and committing $3.75 m. The move taps into Galenvs' custom oligonucleotide synthesis and magnetic nanoparticle tech, potentially widening Laurus' R&D footprint.
The board also declared a ₹1 interim dividend per ₹2 face‑value share, with a November 6 record date and payout scheduled after November 19. Investors will gauge whether the dividend policy signals confidence in future cash flows, while analysts await Q3 guidance to see if the earnings momentum holds.
