Bengaluru’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) cleared the merger of Virat Kohli’s One8 Sports into Agilitas Sports, a move that instantly tripled the cricketer’s equity holding. Under the new structure, One8 operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Agilitas. Kohli’s shareholding in the parent company jumped from 1.8% to 6.4%, cementing his position as a key minority investor in the sports-tech venture.
The financial mechanics are straightforward. Kohli injected ₹40 crore into Agilitas last year. This capital infusion was part of a broader strategy to consolidate brand assets under one roof. The merger eliminates the friction of operating two parallel entities, allowing the company to pool resources for product development and market expansion.
The strategic intent is clear: build a high-performance label that competes on global standards while retaining Indian identity. Kohli remains a co-founder of One8 and will stay deeply involved in brand building. He is not stepping back; he is simply moving up the organizational chart. The integration aims to fast-track the launch of performance gear that can stand alongside international heavyweights.
This approval removes the last major regulatory hurdle for the combined entity. With the legal structure sorted, Agilitas can now pivot entirely to scaling operations and aggressive marketing. The next phase involves rolling out the unified brand across retail and digital channels. Investors will be watching closely to see if the 6.4% stake translates into tangible market value as the brand gains traction.
