The Q3’s production kicks off at the SAVWIPL plant, meaning the car will be assembled in India rather than shipped as a finished unit. That shift cuts out hefty customs duties, so the final retail price should sit closer to what buyers expect for a compact luxury crossover.
The move comes as the Q3 will be pitted against the BMW X1 and Mercedes‑GLA, both of which have long dominated the segment. If Audi keeps the price within a few lakh rupees of those models, it could tip the scales for buyers who crave premium styling without the premium price tag.
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant, already running Škoda and VW models, boasts a production line that can handle up to 30,000 units a year. Piyush Arora, the plant’s chief, said the facility’s capabilities will allow Audi to ramp up the Q3 quickly once demand takes off.
The first Q3s are slated to hit dealerships on October 16, 2026, with initial deliveries expected in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Buyers should keep an eye on the official launch event, where Audi will unveil the model’s final trim levels, pricing, and any optional tech packages.
