BikeWo is targeting a 10,000-vehicle electric tractor fleet for FY2026‑27, backed by a ₹76 crore warrant issue and a ₹66.46 crore contract with Reliance’s Bio Energy Division. The deal runs until July 2033, ensuring a steady stream of specialised EVs for bio‑fuel and biomass handling.
Those tractors will be fitted with loaders, catchers and grabbers, turning them into a flexible platform for harvesting, transporting and processing biomass. They’ll also come with dedicated driver and operation services, so operators don’t need to build the skill set from scratch.
While diesel hybrids and conventional electric vans dominate the Indian fleet market, the niche of electric tractors is still emerging. BikeWo’s partnership with Reliance gives it a foothold against players like Mahindra Electric and Tata Motors that have announced pilot projects in similar sectors, but the scale here—10,000 units—sets a new benchmark.
Exact retail figures aren’t disclosed yet, but industry analysts suggest an electric tractor could cost between ₹30 and ₹45 lakh, compared to ₹70 lakh for a comparable diesel unit. That price differential, coupled with lower maintenance and zero‑emission operation, could translate into significant savings for logistics firms.
The rollout will start in 2025, with full deployment by 2027, and the vehicles will be available from major hubs like Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai. Buyers should watch for the first delivery dates and any incentives tied to the reliability and uptime of the fleet.
