Nitin Nabin stepped onto the packed streets of Chandni Chowk this evening, declaring the start of a 10,000‑person padyatra that will travel through Delhi and other major cities until Nov. 5, 2026— a direct response to Congress’s SIR accusations.
The Congress and INDIA bloc, led by Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, have accused the Election Commission of manipulating the Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, a claim the BJP says is nothing more than a political diversion. Nabin’s march is designed to expose what he calls the opposition’s double standards and to reassure voters that the electoral process remains transparent.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will join similar marches in Hyderabad on Nov. 2 and in Karnal on Nov. 5, while several state chief ministers are slated to participate in city‑wide rallies. Each march is coordinated to attract roughly 10,000 participants, with press briefings and citizen meetings scheduled along the route.
The BJP’s campaign follows a planned opposition rally on Nov. 1 at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, where organizers aim to gather one million people. Ahead of that, a mock parliament on Oct. 30 will pass a resolution demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. With assembly elections looming in Uttar Pradesh and three other BJP‑ruled states, the padyatra sets a political timetable for the next electoral cycle.
