Apple begins taking pre-orders for the iPhone Duo in India on October 16 at 5:30 pm IST, according to the company's official website. The device marks Apple's entry into the foldable category and carries a starting price of Rs 2,99,900 for the 256GB configuration, making it the company's most expensive smartphone sold in the country to date.
The phone opens to reveal a 7.6-inch inner display, with a 5.4-inch outer screen for everyday use. Apple specifies a titanium frame, an A20 Pro chip, a 48-megapixel Dual Fusion camera system, and a dual-battery setup. Buyers will have two colour options—Star White and Night Sky—and four storage tiers, with the 2TB model topping out at Rs 4,49,900.
In-store availability kicks off October 23, with select retail partners also carrying the device subject to stock. Apple's online checkout lists payment options including credit and debit cards, UPI, net banking, and trade-in eligibility for existing smartphones. ICICI Bank's festive campaign lists instant cashback of up to Rs 7,000 on the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with terms applying after launch. American Express and Axis Bank cardholders also see similar cashback offers on Apple's store, alongside six-month no-cost EMI plans.
The launch lands amid reported cooling demand for the standard iPhone 18 Pro, where Apple has reportedly cut order volumes. The Duo's premium pricing positions it squarely against high-end Android foldables, and its availability timing—just a week after pre-orders open—suggests Apple is confident in initial inventory levels. Consumers seeking the device will have until the October 23 store rollout to decide between upfront payment, EMI, or trade-in routes, with final delivery or collection details confirmed at checkout.
