A speeding car slammed into a cyclist on Naushehra Bypass, Majitha Road, in Amritsar on Sunday night. The impact flung the man into the air and dragged him a few meters on the vehicle’s roof before he fell onto the pavement.
CCTV footage captured the moment the car struck the cyclist, showing the vehicle’s tire crushing the bicycle frame and the rider’s body as it launched skyward.
The victim, a 32‑year‑old male, was rushed to Khalsa Hospital in critical condition with multiple fractures and head injuries.
Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify the vehicle through the footage. "We are trying to identify and trace the vehicle with the help of CCTV footage," a police spokesperson said.
The driver remains at large, and authorities are urging anyone who saw the crash to come forward.
