The first thing that makes Ramayana buzz is the ₹14.10 crore it’s already grossed in advance sales – a clean sweep across 6315 shows and 2.63 lakh tickets, beating every pre‑release benchmark set by mythological sagas before the first light of November.
The numbers break down into a Hindi‑centric haul of ₹12.17 crore, accounting for 86% of the total, followed by a respectable Kannada showing at ₹1.49 crore and a modest Telugu lift of ₹44.39 lakh. The momentum hasn’t plateaued; the film added ₹98.10 lakh and 21,195 tickets in a single day, a clear sign that the buzz is still rolling.
Delhi NCR is the hotbed, raking in ₹2.75 crore from over 37,000 tickets, while Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad trail with ₹2.05 crore, ₹1.92 crore and ₹80.87 lakh respectively.
On the screen, Ranbir Kapoor emulates Lord Ram with a mix of intensity and restraint, Sai Pallavi brings a poised Sita, and Yash, as the formidable Ravana, delivers a performance that keeps the myth alive in a modern light. The ensemble – featuring Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Rakul Preet Singh – rounds out a cast that feels both grand and grounded. Yash, in a recent interview, urged viewers to watch with an open mind, acknowledging that visual glitches exist but the story’s scale and effort are undeniable.
The film hits theatres on November 5, with a teaser for Ramayana: Part Two slated for 2027, promising a sequel that could match the epic’s first act. The advance booking surge proves that a myth, when handled with a star‑powered cast, still captivates a pan‑Indian audience and keeps the silver screen alive for epic storytelling.
