Ayan Bhatnagar, the charismatic chief of the newly minted Lal Hit Janata Party, gathered 2,500 members at Malviya Smriti Bhawan in Delhi on Sunday, directly countering the Cockroach Janta Party’s march demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Bhatnagar blasted the CJP’s demonstration as a manufactured attack on constitutional institutions, warning that the protests had already cost businesses in Connaught Place an estimated Rs 3,000 crore during the peak Dussehra‑Diwali season.
He urged Delhi’s voters to rally beyond social media, adding that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi were to issue a call for nationwide mobilisation, the city could see a surge of anti‑CEC demonstrators, potentially destabilising the upcoming elections.
The party has already filed a petition with the Supreme Court, seeking to halt the CJP’s agitation and preserve electoral integrity, while critics argue the move risks inflaming an already volatile political climate.
