Udta Teer’s third‑day haul of ₹8.10 cr catapulted the film to a ₹19.45 cr domestic net, a 78% jump from its opening day. That surge thrust it into the top‑ten opening weekends of Ayushmann’s career, a milestone no one expected for a spy comedy.
While the domestic gross sits at ₹23.08 cr, the worldwide total has already hit ₹27.58 cr. It eclipses Pati Patni Aur Woh’s ₹17.15 cr opening, carving its own niche beside Khurrana’s earlier blockbusters like Thamma (₹86.89 cr) and Dream Girl (₹44.57 cr).
The film opened alongside four other Hindi releases on October 23, including Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, yet emerged as the highest‑grossing that weekend. The decision to push the release from October 9 to the 23rd proved savvy, giving Udta Teer a buffer before the November flood of big‑ticket titles.
Behind the camera, Aakash Kaushik helms the narrative of a Pakistani spy with amnesia who believes he’s an Indian patriot. The project is a joint venture between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, blending espionage with humor in a style that fans have come to love.
Looking ahead, the 5‑November release of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, looms large, but Udta Teer has a clear window before that. Ayushmann’s next outing, Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama Yeh Prem Mol Liya, is slated for November 27, giving him a busy slate that keeps audiences glued.
With a strong domestic foundation and a worldwide tally already surpassing many of his earlier launches, Udta Teer is poised to keep climbing. The next few weeks will decide whether it can sustain its momentum against the November lineup or if the spy comedy will plateau after this explosive start.
