Dubey’s alleged killing followed a heated argument recorded on a phone call that police retrieved. In the clip, she accused Sharma of stealing and locking her in her own house, while he insisted he had only met friends and smoked cigarettes nearby.
Sharma, a 28‑year‑old restaurateur who owned a chain of eateries, had been dating the 27‑year‑old influencer for six months. He reportedly moved into her fourth‑floor flat in Lucknow, where the fatal fall allegedly occurred. Sharma’s mother, Ranjana, claims her son was threatened with obscene videos and suffered physical abuse during the relationship.
Lucknow Police filed an FIR naming Dubey, her sister Rashmi, driver Danish, associate Adil and other unnamed individuals as suspects. The police have offered a ₹25,000 reward for each piece of information that leads to the arrest of Dubey and Rashmi, who are currently on the run.
Dubey, known in the city as a makeup artist and model, separated from her husband a few years ago and moved to Lucknow. Investigators say she cultivated ties with local politicians and bureaucrats, a fact that has intensified the media scrutiny. Her son, who lives with his father, remains unaware of the legal turmoil.
Police are intensifying their search, with authorities expecting to arrest Dubey within weeks. The case will be heard in the Lucknow court on 3 May 2026, where the prosecution will present the recorded evidence and the chain of events that led to Sharma’s death.
