The India‑US Trade Facilitation Portal, a joint venture of the Consulate General in New York and Indian embassies across the States, went live in March and has already attracted 3,500 registrations from U.S. firms eager to tap Indian manufacturing.
The platform offers a searchable catalogue of Indian products, real‑time dashboards, and virtual exhibition halls, allowing exporters to showcase items without attending costly trade shows.
Goyal praised the portal’s role for MSMEs, noting that smaller outfits can now negotiate directly with U.S. buyers and secure contracts worth up to ₹10 crore each, a figure that was previously out of reach.
Ahead of a May 12 meeting with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, officials will review the portal’s performance metrics and plan a phased rollout to other U.S. consulates, expanding access for Indian entrepreneurs nationwide.
