Elon Musk deposited $74.8 million directly into his America PAC between Oct 6 and 14, and an additional $1.98 million flowed from his company United States of America Inc., bringing his first‑half‑October total to nearly $77 million.
The America PAC, founded by Musk to bankroll Republican and conservative candidates, reported spending $42.7 million in the first two weeks of October and held $46.5 million in cash as of Oct 14.
The PAC’s independent‑expenditure ledger shows it has already poured $68.6 million into this cycle’s Senate battles, with the bulk earmarked for Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Maine.
Texas dominates the spend: $27.9 million was spent fighting Democratic challenger James Talarico, while $4.8 million backed Republican Ken Paxton. Ohio follows at $9.3 million, Michigan at $7.7 million, Iowa at $2.7 million and Maine at $2.1 million, all primarily aimed at Democratic opponents.
Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Musk had donated more than $366 million to midterm races by the end of September, including a $158 million gift to the Republican Senate Leadership Fund that was mirrored in the Texas PAC supporting Paxton.
A small‑town voter in Houston, watching a barrage of ads in his feed, said the flood of messages was “overwhelming” and left him confused about how to decide.
The FEC will review the PAC’s spending next month, while the November 3 election looms, setting the stage for the first major test of Musk’s unprecedented campaign‑finance influence.
