Phatlum snapped the women’s title at DLF Golf Club, shooting a blistering 65 to finish four strokes clear of Vani Kapoor.
Her run included five birdies in the final ten holes, after a steady start that saw her hovering at even par on the back‑nine. The decisive moment came on the 12th, where a perfectly placed iron tucked into the green and a 3‑foot putt sealed a birdie that turned a narrow lead into a commanding one.
Kapoor, a DLF Academy prodigy, had a 70 round but faltered after a missed putt on the 8th, which left her two strokes behind early. Phatlum laughed, "I felt the pressure, but I kept my head steady," while Kapoor said, "I wanted to win, but sometimes the greens just don’t cooperate."
This marks Phatlum’s fourth triumph at the event, extending a streak that began in 2008 and adding a major boost to her LPGA standings. The victory keeps her in the top 10 of the Women’s World Golf Rankings, vital as she prepares for the upcoming U.S. Women’s Open.
Both players will next compete in the LPGA’s Texas Classic, where Phatlum aims to carry her hot streak, and Kapoor looks to regroup.
