Houthis announced they launched a ballistic missile at King Khalid International Airport on Monday, claiming the hit was precise.
A spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said the missile struck the airport with a 100‑% success rate.
Meanwhile, a Saudi‑led coalition reported that its air defence forces intercepted the missile over Riyadh, preventing any damage. The coalition’s radar picked up the incoming warhead 30 minutes before impact, and a Patriot system neutralized it.
Additionally, the Houthis claimed they targeted the Khamis Mushait airbase in southern Saudi Arabia with a drone, aiming to disrupt coalition logistics.
The attack follows a series of Houthi missile and drone strikes on Saudi infrastructure, escalating tensions in the region. Riyadh has warned that any further incursions will trigger a swift military response.
