If you drive a BMW in Mumbai, you know the drill: finding a reliable, quick service slot can be a headache. BMW Group India, in partnership with Navnit Motors, just tried to break that cycle. The new Andheri East facility is officially the largest BMW service workshop in the country. We are talking 115,000 square feet of covered space and 53 dedicated bays.
The layout is specific: six spots for consultation, three for diagnostics, 21 for mechanical work, and 23 for body and paint. But the real news here isn't just the square footage; it's the EV infrastructure. As more luxury buyers switch to the iX or i4, the need for high-voltage specialists is no longer a niche concern. This workshop is built to handle those needs without a dedicated queue.
Service isn't just about wrenches anymore. MyBMW app integration allows customers to schedule, approve repairs via video, and track vehicle status in real time. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, called it a mix of capacity and digital systems. For a buyer, that means less time sitting in a lounge and more visibility into what's happening to your car.
Navnit Motors' Krishna Kachalia emphasized the expanded capacity and EV focus. The facility runs on 20% solar power and recycles 100% of car wash water. With 56 workshops now across India, BMW is clearly betting that aftersales quality is the next battleground for premium car sales.
For now, this is a Mumbai-specific win. But as EV adoption grows, having dedicated, high-capacity service centers is non-negotiable. Watch for similar expansions in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru next.
