Ekta Bhangde lived with her husband Manoj Bhangde, a 35‑year‑old IT employee, and their son on the seventh floor of Signature Park before the tragedy. The family had resided in the high‑rise, a prominent society in Thergaon Wakad, for two years.
Manoj left for work at 10 a.m. on Friday, leaving Ekta and Madhav at home. Residents heard a loud noise from a duct and rushed to the 18th floor, discovering the pair lying in a pool of blood.
Wakad police arrived shortly after, and CCTV footage revealed Ekta had taken Madhav to the 18th floor by elevator before the jump. Their shoes and slippers were found near the gallery railing, corroborating the footage.
Both bodies were transported to the on‑site morgue for post‑mortem examination. Police are investigating the circumstances, while helplines such as the Vandrevala Foundation and TISS iCall are available for families affected by the incident.
