Dalviro is serving time, but his family’s assets in Kangra did not survive the audit. On Tuesday, Himachal Pradesh Police moved to seize houses, furniture, and vehicles worth more than Rs 1 crore linked to the convicted trafficker. The assets were held by Dalviro, his son Mithun, and his daughter Gharo Devi.
The operation targeted two properties in Chhanni village, Indora Tehsil. Police took possession of a house valued at nearly Rs 62 lakh in Dalviro’s name. A second house, also in Chhanni, contained furniture and appliances worth over Rs 32 lakh and was registered under Mithun. Gharo Devi’s Maruti Suzuki car, valued at Rs 6.98 lakh, completed the seizure list.
The legal basis for this action traces back to May 30, 2017. On that date, police arrested Dalviro in Indora with 6.5 grams of chitta, an adulterated form of heroin. The court sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Following the arrest, authorities launched a financial investigation to trace the source of wealth. They examined ownership records, construction details, and valuations of the properties. On October 26, the Competent Authority and Administrator for SAFEM (FOP) A and NDPS Act in Delhi issued an order confirming the freeze on these assets.
The seizure closes a chapter on the financial trail of this specific case, but enforcement continues. Police will now manage the seized properties pending final legal proceedings, ensuring the assets cannot be transferred or liquidated by the accused.
