Bhim Singh, father of slain anti‑drug activist Parminder Singh Jhota, demanded a CBI probe and the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister and the Director General of Police on Wednesday in Mansa.
Singh said the investigation had serious lapses, pointing to police inaction and possible collusion that left the murder unsolved.
He called for a statewide bandh on Thursday, October 15, from 6 a.m. until evening, urging people to join while assuring emergency services would remain operational.
Singh also demanded the dismissal of the SSP, DSP and SHO linked to the case and immediate release of detained protestors, insisting no one should be stopped from attending the protest.
He raised questions over the accused’s phone call at the time of the murder, insisting investigators identify the conversation partner – whether a government official, family member or drug trafficker – and include all accused names in the FIR.
