Delhi Police arrested CJP activists Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das early Tuesday after they scaled Jantar Mantar’s iron gate and set up a flash protest, flinging flags and chanting slogans before officers seized them. The incident unfolded a day after the Union Home Ministry declared Jantar Mantar no longer a designated protest venue, replacing it with Ramlila, Burari and CBD grounds. The CJP, a satirical political group, has been active in central Delhi since the Special Intensive Revision controversy sparked nationwide opposition protests. Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the CJP, posted a video of the raid, declaring that "Resistance cannot be denotified" and calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reverse the order. The detained leaders face interrogation; police have indicated possible charges under the Public Order Act as the government tightens control over protest sites across the capital.
