Paris court awarded Kim Kardashian 1 euro in compensation for the armed robbery that took place at Hotel de Pourtales on 2 October 2016 during Fashion Week. The amount matches the exact figure requested by Kardashian’s lawyer, marking a symbolic closure after the 2018 conviction of the eight perpetrators.
The same judge also ordered the hotel 50,000 euros and the former receptionist 109,516 euros, the latter having suffered trauma and sought 550,000 euros in damages. The receptionist’s lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, welcomed the decision as a victory for victims.
Kardashian and her stylist Simone Harouche issued a joint statement expressing gratitude to the French justice system, stating that the verdict was “not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition.” Harouche received the symbolic 1 euro, underscoring the court’s focus on justice rather than monetary reward.
The robbery, executed by six men in their 60s and 70s dubbed “les papys braqueurs,” resulted in the loss of more than $6 million in jewelry, including a diamond ring Kardashian wore that evening. The robbers were tried for armed robbery, kidnapping, gang association and other charges; none appealed the verdict.
With the court’s decision, the case is officially closed, marking the end of an 11‑year legal saga that began with the 2016 heist and concluded with the final sentencing in 2018.
