Milky Mist shares held steady after the dairy firm denied receiving any FSSAI notice, according to its filing to BSE and NSE on Oct. 10, showing a 0% change from the opening.
The filing clarified that the company had not received any official order, directive or notice from either the central regulator or the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Department, and that it would respond appropriately to any formal queries.
The denial comes amid heightened scrutiny of packaged dairy after PTI reported FSSAI action over misleading claims on other Milky Mist products such as Fresh Low‑Fat Cream and Greek Yoghurt, prompting the company to reaffirm its compliance.
Earlier this month, Karnataka enforcement seized expired goods—including Milky Mist Khoa, Nestlé Milkmaid and plain caramel—at a distribution unit, highlighting the broader compliance risks faced by dairy brands.
Analysts expect the stock to stay within a narrow band as the company has not issued new guidance beyond the filing, while peers such as Amul and Britannia have also navigated similar regulatory probes.
With no further directives announced, the market’s neutral stance may shift if additional investigations arise, but the filing’s clarity currently supports investor confidence in Milky Mist’s compliance record.
