The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) in Europe issued a positive opinion on Orforglipron, also marketed as Foundayo, on Monday, October 19. This regulatory nod puts Divi's Laboratories Ltd. squarely in the crosshairs of traders, as the company is positioned as the likely intermediate supplier for the oral weight-loss therapy. The catalyst is significant: the US FDA already approved Foundayo on April 1, 2026, and the drug has already banked $98 million in global revenue during the second quarter of 2026.
Breaking down that revenue, $67 million came from the US market and $31 million from the UAE. For Divi's, this means a direct pipeline into one of the fastest-growing segments in pharma. The company's own financials are holding up the weight. In the first quarter of the current fiscal, consolidated net profit surged 65.6% to ₹902 crore from ₹545 crore in the same period last year. That figure cleared the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹657 crore with room to spare.
Top-line growth mirrored the profit jump. Revenue from operations climbed 27.8% to ₹3,080 crore, beating the consensus of ₹2,911 crore. EBITDA expanded even faster, up 72.2% to ₹1,255 crore versus a poll estimate of ₹915 crore. These aren't just beats; they are decisive margins over analyst expectations.
On the tape, Divi's Laboratories ended the previous session at ₹9,144.5 on the BSE, up 1.3%. The stock has faced some chop recently, slipping 2.8% over the past month, but the longer-term trend remains bullish with a 44.1% gain year-to-date. The company has not yet announced a date for its September quarter earnings release, leaving investors to price in the EU approval and the $98 million sales run-rate in the interim.
