Southwark Crown Court heard Kashim Chowdhury face nine fraud charges after prosecutors said he worked 183 hours a week across five roles, far exceeding a seven‑day week.
Chowdhury began with Tower Hamlets Council in February 2020, added a DEFRA role in April 2021, and, by 2022, was juggling six positions, including NHS Trust, Home Office, and UK Health Security Agency.
Prosecutors claim he siphoned nearly £350,000 from eight employers, using sick leave and false remote‑work claims to mask the overlap and evade notice.
A video call with UKHSA manager Aleesha Adams in May 2023 revealed white‑makeup on his forehead, a tactic he used to feign illness during a Teams meeting, exposing the depth of his deception.
The fraud was uncovered after the National Fraud Initiative flagged financial records, and the case will proceed to a verdict later this year.
