In a resolution presented on Monday, the Supreme Court Collegium elevated Justice Sunita Agarwal of Gujarat, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya of Delhi and Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh of Telangana to the Supreme Court.
The recommendation came from a collegium composed of the Chief Justice of India and four senior judges: CJI, Justices Vikram Nath, B V Nagarathna, M M Sundresh and P S Narasimha.
The resolution will be forwarded to the President, who will formally appoint the justices in accordance with the constitution.
The three nominees bring a blend of experience from the Gujarat, Delhi and Telangana high courts, each having served as chief justices for several years.
The appointments are expected to be announced by the end of September, following the President's review.
