The couple first listed the ranch in 2017 for $6 M, but after months of silence it was withdrawn in 2018. Eight years later, the property returned to the market in June 2024 at $7.5 M, and a buyer was secured in less than two months.
Closing documents signed on July 30 sealed a $6.9 M sale, the lowest price in the area’s recent history, and the transfer will be finalized by July 31.
Oates recalled the ranch as a “bohemian suburb” of Aspen, noting the proximity to downtown and the presence of neighbors like Don Henley and Hunter Thompson.
The 4.3‑acre estate features a caretaker’s unit, stables, an automated irrigation system, and an underground 18,000‑gallon fire suppression tank, making it a fully functional ranch.
