Modi highlighted India's talent base, technology adoption and infrastructure as a launchpad for emerging tech like AI and quantum computing, urging the sector to double down on skilling, innovation and breakthrough research while demanding policies evolve with technical progress.
Industry leaders from SEMI, Micron, Intel, IBM Research and Tata Electronics praised the government's sustained focus on manufacturing, design and talent development. They said the ISM 2.0 framework now offers a clear path to building a full ecosystem, from R&D to advanced fabs.
The meeting also served as a platform for CEOs to present policy suggestions. Modi said he would take their inputs into account when drafting the next phase of India's semiconductor strategy.
The summit underscored the government's commitment to a predictable, responsive policy environment, with the next step being a policy review expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
