SML Mahindra’s commercial vehicle sales jumped 31.9% YoY to 1,071 units in September, but the stock slipped 3.68% to ₹5,871 as investors weighed the stark export decline.
Production also rose 19.8% to 1,257 units from 1,049 in September 2025, with cargo sales up 39% to 516 units and passenger sales 5% higher at 608 units, bringing total September sales to 1,124 vehicles, an 18% YoY lift.
Exports plunged 61.6% to just 53 units from 138 in September 2025, a sharp contrast to the overall sales uptick and raising concerns about overseas demand for the company’s commercial fleet.
For the first six months of FY27, SML Mahindra sold 9,340 vehicles, a 15% increase over the 8,145 units recorded in FY26. Cargo sales during April‑September rose 5% to 2,534 units, while passenger sales jumped 19% to 6,806 units.
The share price dip reflects market anxiety over the export slump; no new guidance has been issued yet, and investors will be watching the upcoming quarterly report for clarity on the company’s overseas strategy.
