BJP has issued a statement calling for state‑wide demonstrations on Monday, Oct 26, to protest the alleged insult by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to the late father of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The remark was made in Patna during a program celebrating the 139th birth anniversary of former Bihar Chief Minister Shrikrishna Singh, when Kharge responded to a heckler by saying "Modi ka baap bhi jayega."
BJP leaders slammed the comment as indecent, accusing Congress of engaging in "gaali politics." Other opposition parties, including JD(U) and Lok Janshakti Party, echoed the condemnation, labeling the language as thug‑like.
The Delhi BJP will kick off the protest around noon, and additional state headquarters are expected to hold parallel rallies; the party is also preparing to file a formal complaint with the Election Commission.
