The 20 senior graduates, from a cohort of 56, completed 60 college credits each, totaling 1,200 credits before collecting their high‑school diplomas.
SLAM North partnered with Doral College in 2023 to offer a dual‑enrollment pathway for high‑school juniors and seniors, allowing them to earn college coursework while still in the ninth and tenth grades.
The 1,200 credits translate into an estimated $312,000 in tuition savings for families, calculated at a cost of $260 per credit.
Students who finish with an associate degree can enter university as sophomores, cutting their undergraduate path by up to two years and freeing time for internships or advanced study.
The SLAM Foundation was founded in 2012 by Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, and now operates 14 schools across Florida, Nevada, Georgia and Arizona, serving nearly 7,000 students in communities with limited educational opportunities.
The network holds Cognia accreditation and was named a Cognia System of Distinction in 2022, positioning it among the nation’s top school systems for educational excellence.
The foundation plans to roll out the dual‑enrollment model to additional SLAM schools in the 2027–28 academic year, expanding the opportunity to more students statewide.
