Jaipur, Rajasthan — The state government froze the financial incentives allotted to Goyal Fashions Private Limited on Monday, a move triggered directly by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The suspension comes as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducts a preliminary inquiry into the deal, effectively placing the company's benefits under a legal and administrative freeze.
The State Level Scrutiny Committee of the Industries and Commerce Department took the formal step to halt the package. Under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS), Goyal Fashions had secured a customised set of concessions. Now, those perks are off the table. The official statement released by the government leaves no ambiguity: the company will not be eligible to receive approved benefits or avail of any concessions until the ACB finishes its work.
This isn't just a procedural pause. It's a signal. The state is drawing a hard line between attracting industrial investment and tolerating financial irregularities. The government’s statement emphasized a "zero-tolerance policy towards corruption," insisting that public resources must be utilised with strict adherence to established rules. While the administration maintains its commitment to industrial growth, it is making clear that growth cannot come at the cost of transparency.
The next move rests with the ACB. Once the preliminary inquiry wraps up, the State Level Scrutiny Committee will likely reconvene to decide if the package is reinstated, modified, or scrapped entirely. For Goyal Fashions, the financial clock is ticking. Every day the probe remains open is a day the promised capital relief stays locked away.
