Chip and Joanna Gaines' Waco Castle Sells to New Owner for $2.7M

Chip and Joanna Gaines' Cottonland Castle, a 135‑year‑old Waco landmark, went pending on Sept. 18 after a $2.7 million listing.

The couple spent years restoring the 6,176‑square‑foot home, preserving antique tile, diamond‑paned windows, and adding modern amenities while keeping its historic soul, People.com reported.

The Castle became a television centerpiece on Magnolia Network's "Fixer Upper: The Castle," chronicling the Gaineses' quest to revive the aging structure.

In 2023 the Gaineses had tried to sell the castle via auction, but the bid fell short. They also listed Hillcrest Estate for $1.7 million and the Gristmill for $935,000, but those properties remain on the market, said People.com.

The pending sale will be finalized once the buyer completes due diligence, after which the castle will become a private residence. The Gaineses will shift focus to their next real‑estate ventures.
