Shares of GCP rose 2% to ₹837 on NSE after the company released Q2 results, with net profit up 13.9% YoY to ₹523 crore, a ₹64 crore lift over the same period last year. Revenue from operations surged 19% to ₹4,413 crore, topping the CNBC‑TV18 consensus of ₹4,380 crore and nudging the company toward its projected double‑digit growth trajectory.
Operating earnings climbed 11.9% YoY to ₹820 crore, a figure largely in line with the ₹825 crore estimate. The jump reflects a 19% revenue rise offset by higher raw‑material costs, but nonetheless keeps GCP ahead of peers like Dabur and Hindustan Unilever in EBIT performance.
However, profitability slipped. EBITDA margin contracted 50 basis points YoY to 18.6% from 19.1%, slightly below the Street’s 18.8% expectation. Management cited renewed inflation in key raw‑material baskets and a trade‑inventory correction that may erode margins by 100‑150 basis points.
In its Q2 business update, GCP highlighted high‑teens revenue growth, high‑single‑digit volume growth, and double‑digit EBITDA expansion. It also warned that inventory adjustments could impact margins but reaffirmed its full‑year guidance of double‑digit revenue and EBITDA growth.
Looking ahead, GCP will report Q3 earnings on 15 November. Investors will watch whether the company can sustain its revenue momentum and offset margin pressure, while the stock’s 33% year‑to‑date correction adds an upside potential for long‑term holders.
