If you thought a ₹332 cr haul meant the makers were swimming in cash, think again.
Bethlehem Kadamba Unit, the brainchild of Bhavana Studios – owned by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran – stormed the screens on August 21, 2026, smashing every Malayalam record and landing sixth place among India’s highest‑grossing films of the year.
The split is brutal. Roughly half the gross is sliced off by exhibitors, agents and distributors worldwide, then GST drags another chunk. That leaves the producers with a pittance.
Fahadh, who wore a producer’s hat and a leading man’s smile, told Cue Studio, “None of us will get even half of this ₹332 cr that the headlines scream about. That’s the gross. The net is a fraction.”
It’s a reminder that box‑office glory is a team sport. The film also went live on JioPlus Hotstar on October 2, and the mini‑film ‘Soulmates – Oru Saathukkudi Pranayam’ found its own audience on YouTube a month after the release.
So while the posters brag about the ₹332 cr, the real story is that the makers are content with their collective win, not the wallet. And the next chapter for Fahadh? He’s already eyeing new scripts that could rival this box‑office juggernaut.
