Ashutosh Ranka, the charismatic head of the Cockroach Janta Party, flipped the script in Delhi on Thursday, questioning why Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh had shared tea and breakfast with CJP cadres when foreign money from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and the United States was supposedly flowing into the group.
The backdrop to the confrontation is the October 13 protest at Jantar Mantar, where a wave of demonstrators marched against the government's handling of civil liberties. CJP has been demanding a transparent probe into the alleged foreign funding that allegedly financed the rally.
Ranka further slammed the administration for allegedly shielding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the government of ignoring widespread claims of vote theft and electoral irregularities linked to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The CJP insists it will cooperate fully with the investigation, pledging to hand over documents and provide testimony to whichever agency is tasked with the probe.
Officials have yet to issue a formal statement, but the investigation is expected to continue over the coming weeks, with findings due before the next parliamentary session.
